Emergency Services Personnel Earn National Recognition
During Civil Air Patrol's National Conference this summer, Connecticut Wing was recognized for outstanding work in Search and Rescue. Connecticut Wing operates two primary Search and Rescue missions: the Long Island Sound Patrol (LISP), where aircrews survey the Long Island Sound for distressed boaters over the spring and summer months, and the Connecticut River Ice Patrol, where aircrews survey the Connecticut River for ice conditions throughout the winter to aid the US Coast Guard.
Connecticut Wing's success in these missions earned recognition at the National level, where the Connecticut Wing was awarded the Excellence in Search and Rescue award. Congratulations to our Emergency Services personnel who volunteer countless hours to ensure we are mission ready for whatever the need may be.
